Keep Cats Indoors

KEEP CATS INDOORS

Hello from Kelly at Think Turtle Conservation Initiative

Last years turtle hatchlings that remained in their nest for the winter, known as overwintering are now starting to emerge and begin their long awaited journey. These turtle hatchlings can show up anytime during the spring, typically from April to early June, depending on the weather patterns. As small as they are, turtle hatchlings are vulnerable to all manner of predators, including our feline friends. If your cat is outdoors and taking a particular interest in something in the yard, please check it out. It could be a turtle hatchling.

As always, we urge you to keep your cats indoors, not just for the safety of your furry friend, but also for the sake of so many little critters. If you haven’t had a chance to read our article on this topic, we hope you will soon.
